English Langauge Challenges

I always said that I don’t like the method in this university for teach english. It’s a method that assume that we already know everything, I know if I get to this course it's because I approved the previous ones, but everyone know that false, the marks have never meant your level of knowledge.

In general, I have not learned much, I learned more when I listened to songs from One Direction haha. 

I would make a room especially for the english subject, or maybe more rooms depending on the number of students and "levels" and each room would set the themes or conjugations, phrases, how to occupy the verb tenses, among others. I know that is very didactic or a “method for children” but I think it would work.

About the blogs, I think they are good but it's still very easy to translate in the google traductor, it’s more easy, more faster, especially at the time we have the english class, that at least me, I just want my house and don’t “take” the rush hour of the subway (this doesn’t mean that I want to have english classes at 8.30 a.m)

About the aspect that I need to improved, the gramatic and some conjugations that I always do wrong haha, but really thinks that can improve talking more in English, even if it's just alone or maybe writing a chat on the internet in English, I don’t know, it’s only practice in the everyday, no more.

My use of English is very low, I don’t occupy it frequently and if I must do it I use google traductor or wordreference. Sorry for so little, english...

Changes to your study program

I think that my career had a lot of theory and very little practice (although from this university approach, cannot be separated theory and practice), this don’t like to me because we, as social worker, need learn how to interact with more people, as well as teachers are taught how teach, I think that we need to know how intervene in people.

 In our third year, we don’t have practice, we have research nuclei, I mean, we work like in a practice doing research, that for what they have told me, it’s very tiring because you have to work while you generate research and your courses like student... for me, this sound horrible! 

Maybe, faculty can add another year to the career exclusive for research nuclei, that way it would be less academic load for us and we could dedicate ourselves better to our work. Considering that my career lasts only four years and a fifth year validated as post graduate studies (and they are not mandatory, I BELIEVE that the fifth it’s validated only if you “win” an investigation with your nuclei, I repeat, I think that it’s like that, I’m not sure) . 

So, for me, the career should last five years or four and a half years (half year for practice) and other year for validated as post graduate studies, if you win the project. 

About the curriculum, I think it’s good, because we are titled as social workers and not as a social assistant (understanding that the first have more “level”).

What is your opinion about owning an exotic pet?

I think it's selfish. Maybe it would be striking but why remove them from their habitat to domesticate them? I really like ferrets but that's not why I'll have one in my home, probably in a cage and alone, stressed out by being alone in the day… In addition, for this interest in exotic animals there are hatcheries and places of sale both illegal and legal. Why do we have to meddle in nature? For our own enjoyment as "human beings"? S E L F I S H!

What is your opinion about animal testing?

Similar to the previous answer, I think it’s selfish too. Just because the animals can't say no or defend themselves, I even think it's interesting to think about the ethics of animal testing… why they do it? To what extent do they do it? Does the suffering of them make indifferent? Poor animals! I hope that one day they will stop experimenting on rabbits and rats for scientific science, makeup, psychology, among others ...

What is your opinion about the Chilean tradition called ‘mechoneo’?

I think that is so ridiculous and unnecessary for the new students. Why you want a torture? Without your clothes, your personal things… they make you lose your dignity. It don’t make me sense for a tradition or memory for the first year in the university. Also, what do older students want to show (who make the “mechoneo”)? Would not a ceremony be better? or a mentoring to accompany you in your career?

What is your opinion about legalizing abortion in some cases?

“Some cases” it makes me noise because I think the abortion need be legal now, in all the cases: unfeasibility of the fetus, violation, danger of the life of the mother and when the woman doesn’t want to be a mother. Why people choose for us? In addition, abortion exists, it’s a reality in the world, why hide it? 

They can’t force us to be mothers if we don't want!

(and I will not "close my legs" because my sexual activity is to enjoy it and not to reproduce)

Conspiracy theories.

Hi classmates.

I’m not conspiratorial; actually I’m so sceptic about a lof of themes like the man in the moon, the death of Juan Gabriel or the Anunnakis, even with God. But recently I’ve heard about the “Agenda 21”, a new orden world for twenty one century.

This is an action plan from United Nations for the environment and sustainability, the restructuring of the world population to reduce the environmental impact and improve the quality of life. Until here, this sound ok, even good but a teacher once said that this is deadly for the world and for us, because this plan include depopulation on the 95% of the world until 2030 and the imposition of a totalitarian world government…

So, this means basically, I think, that only the richest will live because they would be the strongest and tough enough to survive. This can be linked with the TPP11 and the privatization of the seed and all food will be more expensive, at a high price, and also they will have more transgenic, maybe this thing kill us or maybe we don't have money to buy it, I don’t know. But, actually, “Monsanto” (multinationals that covers the food market and very mentioned in the mobilization against the TPP11) it was accused of selling carcinogenic products so I don’t find it strange that the TPP11 is part of the universal killing. Some people even have compared this plan with the movie The Hunger Game.

I think it's good to depopulate the world because we are the most horrible race in the world (Here enters into discussion who deserves to live and why, but that is another topic), but,

 Let the world to the rich people? REALLY?

Post graduate studies

Hi!

I don’t know about the post graduate studies, but I google it and sounds good studies about Human Rights, Latin American studies or something with sociology because it was one of my study options the last year. Or maybe something about my own career (Social Work) or piscologist because the social worker needs a good tools for intervene the realities and it’s necessary to have knowledge of psychology… I don’t know, I want to do a lot of things and study sounds good because I like to study (althought don’t believe it), I like to learn... Is fantastic know things!

 But I don’t know, if I study some about, for example, sociology, how do I work with this and my work social studies? Will have some kind of connection? I ask myself this to see if the “knowledge” would accumulate giving greater status in the curriculum…But I don’t know haha

In case I could study postgraduate, I like travel to another country, anyone except the USA (I have a deep hatred for that country), maybe Nordic countries or México but if I couldn’t, I would stay in Chile, it’s not a big problem.

The study method that I would like to use could be part-time course, but actually, I don’t trust so much in this study programs, I imagine that they are not very effective to learn or they are “short heads”, I mean, very likely fail a subject, but it just ideas that come to mind.

My favorite anime

I don't know what to say about this topic because I don't like the "traditional" anime, I mean, Chinese or Korean, Japanese, and now it’s common to read social media memes about otakus and laugh at them haha (NO OFFENSE PLEASEE! <3).

I really don’t know, I’m ignorant in this, but, the other day talking with a friend I discovered a new "style" or "origin" of anime: american anime. I’m felt very impressed because I don’t knew this, always thought that the anime only came from Asía HAHAH… (part of my ignorance)

Well, it turns out that a series that I saw as a girl WAS ANIME but from U.S… and it was Avatar: The legend of Aang. This series is about two siblings (Katara and Sokka) who live in a place with four nations: of fire, air, water and earth; and they find a kid, Aang, meditating in an air bubble inside the ice and discovered that he is an Avatar (master air) and can bring peace to the world if he manages the four elements perfectly and defeat the Lord of fire, who wants to expand his empire and dominate other nations (water – fire – land).

I liked so much because mixed martial arts with the manipulation of the elements and it was very mystical all and also, liked Appa that is the only bison alive in the sky and the and the animal guide of Aang.

Movies or series that left a mark on you

Hi.

I’m not big fan of series, movies or tv shows… But the last year I start to watch Grey’s Anatomy. It takes me a year to watch the 14 seasons in Netflix, now I’m watching the 15 season for internet haha (but I think that it’s better to wait for it to be available in Netflix).

In general Grey’s Anatomy is about new resident of medicine who comes at their university Hospital and they begin to unfold as surgeons, friends and learn about the life. I know that the most of people think that is only drama, sex, love, death, but is so good haha! It’s like an addiction to watch in vacations.

But it like me too because in their episodes, take a lot of themes like abortion, homosexual love, adopt children and assume paternity, addiction of drugs, each other’s…  And with the time you realize that the characters grow up psychologically and physically and you were present all the time. Is was magical when in the season 10-11 watch the first episode and see how young they were at the beginning.
